1001 Inventions launches second Istanbul Exhibition

Award-winning exhibition at prestigious Biruni University

1001 Inventions in partnership with Biruni University, the Turkish Prime Ministry and the Municipality of Fatih announced the launch of the second 1001 Inventions exhibition in Istanbul. The exhibition is open to the public and can be visited free of charge until 15 August 2016, located in the grounds of the Biruni University.

The Rector of Biruni University, Prof. Dr. Adnan Yuksel said:

“One of the most important reasons for bringing the exhibition was to inspire more people to become scientists.”

Professor Dr. Talib Alp, the TUBITAK Science Board Member and a 1001 Inventions representative in Turkey said:

We have received a unique knowledge from genius scientists from Muslim Civilisation. I congratulate Biruni University for hosting the exhibition for the people of our country and wish the university great success in bringing up the scientists of the future.”

1001 Inventions exhibitions have achieved resounding success in many cities around the world such as London, New York, Washington DC, Paris, Los Angeles, Jeddah, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, Kuala Lumpur, Beijing, Istanbul and other. More than 8 million people have visited 1001 Inventions exhibitions and over 250 million have people engaged in 1001 Inventions campaigns.

The 1001 Inventions exhibition features a special focus on Ottoman contributions to science and a diverse range of exhibits to enthral visitors and enrich their knowledge, including interactive displays, electronic games and models that highlight breakthroughs and discoveries in various discipline including medicine, geography, engineering, marine science, astronomy and education. The exhibition also features live performances that bring to life historic role models from Muslim Civilisation.
